Glynda Sue Greene, born on May 21, 1941, in Overton County, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 30, 2026, at Quality Center in Lebanon, Tennessee. She was 85 years old.
A woman of many talents and interests, Glynda graduated from Livingston Academy in 1959. Her adventurous spirit led her to work in various states, where she held numerous positions throughout her career. She eventually retired in 2008 from Pacific Corp in Salt Lake City, Utah, and moved back to her roots in Cookeville, Tennessee.
Glynda had a passion for travel and delighted in exploring new places. She was also an avid quilter, spending countless hours piecing together beautiful quilts that reflected her creativity and patience. Her love for dogs was well-known, and she cherished the companionship they provided throughout her life. As a dedicated walker, she actively participated in the “Walk with the Doc” program at Cookeville Reginal Hospital.
Known for her outgoing personality, Glynda had a vibrant presence that brightened the lives of those around her. She was a proud redhead, embracing her fiery locks with confidence, even though it wasn't her natural hair color.
Glynda is preceded in death by her parents, Julian Wright and Rochie Ramsey Wright, and her siblings, Anna Williams, Helen Coker, Maxine Prewitt, Charles Wright, Betty Jean Wright, Mary Francis Wright, Porter Wright, Jessie Wright, Shirley Smith, and Billie Higgenbotham.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Wilma Helen Wright; her sister, Janice Wright; and several beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In accordance with her wishes, no services are planned. Glynda will be remembered fondly by her family and friends, who will cherish the memories of her warmth, humor, and zest for life.
