DYER CHAPEL- Gwendolyn Logston Cook, 77, of Cookeville, TN, formally of New Castle, IN; who lived her life rich with love and laughter entered eternal life in Heaven on October, 11th, 2025 after a brief but brutal battle with cancer.
She was born April 10th, 1948 in Albany, KY to James Byron and Mabel Rigney Logston.
She never met a stranger and many will remember her filling their coffee cup over the years at the Cab Station in New Castle in addition to retiring from Draper Shades in Spiceland, IN in 2005. She loved traveling anywhere with family and friends and visited several countries. Over the years while in New Castle, she could be found on the softball diamonds at Osborne Park. She loved fishing on the Ohio River and played many golf courses throughout her life.
She is survived by her husband Floyd R. Cook of Cookeville, TN; and lovingly remembered by her daughters, Tina Williams Deline (husband Robert) of Talladega, AL and Tammy Williams Dube (Tyler Worley) of Burnside, KY; and her three grandchildren who were the light of her life - Marissa Cole (husband Elijah) of Huntsville, AL, Austin D. Estelle (Johana Aguirre) of Arlington, TX and Ciara Gwnyth Williams of Round Rock, TX; and 1 great granddaughter, Isabelle Grayce Hill of Birmingham, AL; in addition she is survived by her siblings, Carolyn Stewart of Carolina Shoes, NC, Anna Cox (husband Larry) of New Castle, IN, Jeri Kolodziej (husband Jan) of New Castle, IN, David Logston (wife Phyllis); and several nieces and nephews and many friends who were like family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Bryon Logston and Mabel Rigney Logston; sisters, Tammy Snow Ferguson, Betty Sidwell, Shirley Logston, M. Helen Lee; and brothers, Jim Duvall and Gary Logston.
In keeping with her wishes, she will be cremated and the family will have a Celebration of Life in Cookeville, TN and New Castle, IN at a later date with her final resting place at South Mound Cemetery in New Castle, IN.
