Harold Rippetoe

Funeral services for Mr. Harold Darwin Rippetoe, age 77, of Cookeville, will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday March 4 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with Rev Steve Thornton and Rev. Nolan Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4 - 8 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. until service time. Mr. Rippetoe passed away Wednesday February 28, 2018 at his home. He was born April 18, 1940 in Smith County, TN to the late Lawrence Darwin and Lou Ardelia Apple Rippetoe. Mr. Rippetoe attended Rocky Point Baptist Church. He was retired from building construction. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding ATV's. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Harold Rippetoe; two brothers, Bobby and Hubert Rippetoe; two sisters, Betty Lou Bingham and Sue Rushing; four brothers-in-law, Sam, Bud, JT Sparks, and Ernie Pullum. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Pauline Sparks Rippetoe, who he married June 4, 1960 in Cookeville; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Randy Fly of Cookeville; two grandchildren, Rebecca (Tommy) Phillips of Cookeville, Jennifer (TJ) Miller of Monterey; four great-grandchildren, Bailey and Elijah Phillips, John Parker and Gavin Miller; brother-in-law, Elmer (Angie) Sparks, Ann Sparks, all of New Carlisle, OH, Joyce (Butch) Rogers of Kingston Springs, TN, and Bonnie Pullum of Cookeville; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Tim Rushing, Kenny Rippetoe, Troy Jones, Alan Boles, Randy Pullum, Chris Sparks, and Clayton Sparks.
