COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Helen Ann Ball, born on June 21, 1941, in Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away on Friday December 12, 2025, in Grandview Nursing Home in Cookeville, Tennessee. She was a dedicated member of her community and an integral part of the lives of those who knew her.
Helen devoted over 20 years of her life to Baker Middle School in Troy, Michigan, where she worked lovingly in the cafeteria, nurturing the next generation with her warmth and kindness. Known for her outspoken personality, she left a lasting impression on those around her, always ready to share her thoughts and lend a helping hand.
A beloved mother and grandmother, Helen cherished her family above all else. She moved to be closer to her grandson, Logan Bass, with whom she shared a special bond. Her daughter, Tammy Bass, and her daughter, Raylene Anderson, reflect the loving spirit Helen imparted to her family.
Helen's hobbies and interests were as vibrant as her personality. A faithful member of the Freewill Baptist faith, she lived out her beliefs with conviction. In her younger years, Helen found joy in the thrill of drag racing cars, showcasing a side of her that was adventurous and spirited. In quieter moments, she loved to sew, craft, and immerse herself in word search puzzles, activities that showcased her creativity and attention to detail.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Tammy Bass (Alan), her daughter, Raylene Anderson (Brian), and her cherished grandson, Logan Douglas Bass. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Raymond Ball; her parents, Jesse Dayton Teague and Violet Jewell McCurry Teague; and her brother, Harry Lee Teague.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday December 17 at Crest Lawn Cemetery at 1:00 PM. Bro. Roger Cooper will officiate.
Helen Ann Ball will be remembered for her loving heart, spirited nature, and the lasting impact she had on all who knew her.
