Hugh Lee Sliger

COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Hugh Lee Sliger, 73, of Baxter, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, from the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Allison Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 9p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Sliger died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at home. He was born March 2, 1935, in Putnam County to the late Bedford Garrison and Minnie D. Sliger. Mr. Sliger was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church and was a member of the Putnam County Home Builders Association. His family includes his wife, Vivian Bethune Sliger; Four children: Brenda G. (Gary) Stephens of Chickamauga GA, Marilyn (Joel) McDonald of McDonough GA, Stephen Lee (Trina) Sliger of Cookeville, Loretta (Junior) Briggs of Cookeville, 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Richard Sliger, and his brother Lawrence D. Sliger.
