Jack Sevier

Graveside services and interment for Jackie (Jack) Sevier, 72 of the Willow Grove community in Clay County, TN, and formerly of Algood, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 11 at St. John's Cemetery in Clay County with Bro. David Dalton officiating. Mr. Sevier's family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 – 8 pm at the Algood Family Event Center, 124 First Avenue, Algood, TN. Mr. Sevier died Monday evening June 8, 2015 in Algood, TN at Signature Health Care of Putnam County. He was born January 22, 1943 in Livingston, TN to the late George (Red) Herbert and Daisy Arms Sevier. Mr. Sevier retired from Koch Industries based in Wichita, KS. He worked in research and development with road and paving materials. He formerly worked at McDowell Materials. Mr. Sevier enjoyed spending time on Dale Hollow Lake, especially racing boats and crappie fishing. He also treasured all the time spent with family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Sevier. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Doris Bilbrey Sevier (whom he married November 2, 1962 in Algood); daughter and son-in-law, Melahn and Jim Finley of Algood; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Jessica Sevier of the Willow Grove Community, David and Rhonda Sevier of Lebanon, TN; grandchildren, Zac Finley, Rebecca Finley, Hallie Sevier, Thomas Sevier, Amber Shelton (husband Thomas), and Sierra Sevier; sister-in-law, Anna Ruth Sevier of Algood and niece, Teena Sibley.
