James Bohannon

Funeral services for Mr. James Thomas Bohannon, affectionately known as "Crow", age 71 will be held Tuesday, March 1st 1:00 p.m. at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Algood Heritage Cemetery. Pastor Josh Hodum will officiate. His family will receive friends Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Bohannon died Wednesday February 23, 2022 at his residence. He was born February 4, 1951 in Putnam County, TN to Anna Elizabeth Bohannon of Algood and the late Harlin "J" Howard Bohannon. He was educated in the Putnam County school system. He proudly served in the Tennessee National Guard for six years. James worked as a custodian for 30 years with Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He also worked at Tennessee Tech and Signature Healthcare in Algood. Following retirement, he served in ministry at Trinity Baptist Church and Bon Air Methodist Church in Sparta. He enjoyed plants, music and grocery shopping for his next meal. He was a good person, friendly and was often seen with a smile on his face. He was a long-time member of Wrights Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to his father, Mr. Bohannon was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lee Columbus and Susie Allred Bohannon and Altie and John Mullins; and by a great niece, Logan Jade Bohannon. In addition to his mother, he is survived by three sisters, Ann Jordan, Billie Bohannon and Patricia Willis, all of Algood; and by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Jabbar Jordan, Greg Jordan, Daylyn Martin, Bo Mullins, Corey Mullins and Michael Mullins will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Carr, Morris Irby, Jason Bohannon and Shawn Bohannon. His nieces and great nieces will serve as flower girls.
