Funeral services for James Hershel Haley, age 95 of Baxter, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday December 10 at the Dyer Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Danny Sellars will officiate. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery.
His family will receive friends Friday from 5 - 8 p.m. and again Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time.
James passed away Wednesday December 7, 2022 at his home.
He was born October 17, 1927 in Coffee County, TN to the late James Medford Haley and Tennie Lewis Haley.
James worked as a heavy equipment operator in Hoover Rock Quarry. A true outdoorsman, James loved to hunt, fish, and garden.
He is survived by four sons, Randall (Gloria) Haley of Mt. Juliet, Tony (Gloria) Haley of Mt. Juliet, David Haley of Chattanooga, and Johnny (Denise) Haley of Cedar Hill; daughter, Judy (Stan) Cowan of Baxter; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Hobbs Haley; brother, Haskell Haley; two sisters, Willie Mae Gordon and Pauline Campbell; and great granddaughter, Kyndal McElhiney.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
The Haley family would like to thank Dr. Ernest Buchanan and the staff at Kindred Hospice for the care and attention rendered to James.
