DYER CHAPEL-James David Hannah, 71 of Oliver Springs, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at TriStar Centennial in Nashville.
David was born on August 31, 1953, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to the late James Taylor Hannah and Sarah Hannah.
He graduated from Tennessee Technological University in 2014. David served as a police officer in Livingston TN, and later as security guard at Nashville State and UT Knoxville college. He had exemplary entrepreneurial skills which led to the ownership and operation of his grocery store, "Dave's Grocery", in Willow Grove/ Allons, TN (near Dale Hollow Lake) for over a decade. In recent years, he worked on housing development tasks and with construction deliveries in Spencer, TN. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, football, genealogy studies, storytelling, writing, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his two daughters Annette Saldana and Jamie Oliver, his grandchild Evan Taylor Oliver as well as his three sisters Martha Neal, Mary Beth Bradley, and Rebecca McCollough. He was previously married to Luann Bailey.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the Algood Community Center.
