James Mcgill

Funeral services for James Odle McGill, age 82, of Cookeville, will be held Monday, January 7, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Bro. Charlie Wills will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. James passed away Monday, December 31, 2018 at Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital in Rochester, MI. He was born January 27, 1936 in St. Louis, Illinois to the late Alfred and Elvira (Odle) McGill. James served his country in the Air Force. He was employed as an electrical trouble shooter for more than 25 years. James was a family man who was married 53 years to the late Kathy McGill. He was a Christian and was a member of the New Home Baptist Church. He is survived by three sons, James (Kim) McGill of Hadley MI, Joel McGill and Jeffery (Joanne) McGill of Oxford MI; one daughter, Jo-Anna (William) Rizer of Washington Township; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren Memorial contributions may be made to New Home Baptist Church, 10350 Old Baxter Road, Baxter TN, 38544.
