COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Funeral services for Mr. James Louis Tindall, age 76 will be held Friday, October 16, 2026 at 1:00 pm in the Cookeville chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Pastor Steve Qualls will officiate.

Mr. Tindall passed away on Sunday October 11, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on April 28, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, James spent formative years living in Michigan before moving to Cookeville in 1983. He will be remembered as a kind, loving, and caring man whose life was centered on hard work, devotion to family, and the simple joys that brought him happiness.

James worked as a machinist for Mid South Machine for 18 years, a role that reflected the hardworking spirit so many knew and admired in him. He was a great father and a man who took deep pride in the life he built with those he loved most. Among his proudest accomplishments were his family and his marriage, often saying that his wife was his world. He was especially proud of his children and of their career accomplishments, and that pride remained a lasting part of who he was.

He also had a warm and familiar way about him that made him easy to love. James was a Sci-Fi fanatic who enjoyed Star Wars and Star Trek, and he found comfort and pleasure in everyday routines, including a good cup of coffee and trips to Walmart. These simple, personal details will remain cherished memories for those who knew him best.

Above all, James was a family man. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Wanda Tindall, whose place in his heart was unmatched. He also leaves behind his daughter, Jamie Reis, and her husband, Robert; his son, Jason Tindall, and his wife, Brandi; and his granddaughter, Hope Tindall. Along with James’ sister Judy DeBot. The love he shared with his family was the defining joy of his life, and his presence will be deeply missed in each of their days.

He was preceded in death by his father, Forrest Tindall; his mother, Louise Tindall; his sisters, Pat Kramer and Carol Burris; and his brother, Michael Tindall. Their memories remained part of his story throughout his life, and now he rests with those who went before him.”

James will be remembered for his steady love, his caring heart, his loyalty to his family, and the pride he took in those closest to him. His life was a blessing to those who shared it, and his memory will be held with love.
