Funeral Services for Alma Jean Barr, 86 of Baxter will be Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 1 p.m. from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home with interment at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Mrs. Barr died Thursday, February 16, 2012 at National Health Care in Cookeville. She was born July 25, 1925 in Jackson County to the late Noah and Beulah Brown Halfacre. She was a retired Dietitian at Baxter Elementary School with 54 years of service. She was a member of Baxter Church of Christ. In addition to her parents she was preceeded in death by her first husband Herman T Hale, second husband of 62 years Samuel Neely "S.N."� Barr, Jr. who died on Dec. 5, 2011, and a brother Taylor Halfacre. Survivors include 2 sons & daughters-in-law Harold T. & Sheila Hale of Cookeville, Rick & Scotti Barr of Franklin, sister Irene Richardson of Baxter, 6 grandchildren: Gina Hale, Beth Hale, Tina Wallace, Erica Barr Buesing and husband Jeff, Amanda Barr, Robert Hale, 4 great-grandchildren: Noel Qualls, Michael Wallace, Bethany Hale & Caitlin Maynord; one great great grandchild, Owen Maynord. Bro. John Pippin will officiate. Family will receive friends Monday 5 to 8 P.M. and Tuesday after 11 A.M. at the funeral home. Family & friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Odd Fellows Cemetery Fund by contacting the funeral home.
