Funeral services for Mrs. Jeanette Hearn, of Cookeville, will be held Monday, February 6th at 4:00 p.m. at Cookeville First United Methodist Church with Rev. Whitney Mitchell officiating, Entombment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Sunday from 1 - 3 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and again Monday from 2 p.m. until service time at the church. Mrs. Hearn passed away Friday afternoon, February 3, 2017 at Heritage Pointe Senior Living. She was born in Sharps Chapel, TN to the late Eston Worth and Pearl Elizabeth White Weaver. She attended the University of Tennessee and was a Majorette with the University's Pride of the Southland Band and a Sponsor of the ROTC program. She and her late husband, Dean Edell Hearn, moved to Cookeville in 1961. A gifted homemaker, she also worked in school and church settings as an assistant. She was a member of Cookeville First United Methodist Church. Jeanette epitomized a southern belle. Her strength and determination in raising her children grew into a gentle spirit in her later years. A good listener, she had sincere respect and unconditional love and appreciation for others. Her smile and comforting nature will be warmly remembered. Her family and friends have fond memories of the love she poured into her the award-winning, homemade yeast bread. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Dr. Edell Hearn; sister, Analee Keishan; and by brothers, Archie Weaver, Marvin Weaver and Lyman Weaver. She is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Janna and Ron Chambers of Cookeville, Valerie and Larry Pitman of Murfreesboro, TN; Kaydell and Danny Smith of Cookeville; six grandchildren, Joshua (Kelsey) Reese, Caleb (Brittany) Reese, Nick Pitman, Laurel Pitman, Addie Smith, and Drake Smith; brother, Gilmore (Sylvia) Weaver; and by two sisters, Jessie Davis and Dottie Willingham, both of Knoxville. Active pallbearers will be Mrs. Hearn's sons-in-law and grandsons.
