Jeffery Shane Goodwin passed away peacefully at his residence in Cookeville, TN on October 21, 2023. Born on November 11, 1967, also in Cookeville, Jeff lived a full life, marked by his dedication to his family, his work, and his community.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Robison Goodwin, and their children: son Justin Goodwin and his fiancee Kayla, daughter Megan Meadows and her husband Stephen, and bonus son Joshua Fracker and his wife Katie. He is also survived by his brother, Ronnie Goodwin and his wife Debbie. Jeff was a proud grandfather to Benton, Merit, Julian, Ella, Olivia, and Jensen, who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, JD "Sally" Goodwin and Edith "Mrs. Sally" Goodwin, and an infant son.
Jeff's career as a truck driver spanned over two decades, beginning with Lo Jack where he served for over 21 years, and later with Rogers Group. His dedication to his work was a testament to his character - hardworking, reliable, and always ready to lend a helping hand. In addition to his professional life, Jeff was a former volunteer firefighter with the Putnam County Fire Department, a role that showcased his commitment to his community.
A member of Dodson Branch Southern Baptist Church, Jeff's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was known for his love for his children, his passion for craftsmanship, and his ability to strike up a conversation with anyone he met. His friends and family remember him as a man who never met a stranger, always ready with a friendly smile and a kind word.
In every aspect of his life, Jeff was a great conversationalist. He had a unique ability to connect with people, to listen to their stories, and to share his own. His conversations were not just exchanges of words, but meaningful interactions that left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him.
