Jerry Lowell Freeman born July 25, 1943 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma went to his heavenly home on Monday, November 20, 2023 at the age of 80 years with loved ones by his side. He served the Lord with all of his heart and was devoted to doing God’s work.
He was a man of integrity and cherished our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was an ordained minister that led several to God, baptized many, and served as Deacon and ministered to the Youth of the Church.
He was a carpenter by trade and built numerous homes and remodeled many estates. He always viewed his work heartily as to the Lord not unto men, so he labored to perfection. He shared his gifts and talents with many through his carpentry work and his passion for Sports. The game of Basketball allowed him to minister to the Youth. He officiated ball games from Highschool to Collegiate levels all over the state of Arkansas and Oklahoma.
Jerry was awarded the Certificate for Appreciation from the Communications Agency at the White House for establishing secure and enabling critical communications for President Bush Sr. along with the White House staff visit to the Oklahoma City Oklahoma bombing of the Murah building October 29, 1990.
He is survived by his loving and caring wife, Rosie Jane Watkins Freeman of 62 years, one son, Bryan Keith Freeman/Tracey of Florida, and one daughter, Dana Ann Freeman Griggs/Randy of Tennessee. He was blessed with 5 grandsons, James Wesley Griggs/Jessica of Tennessee; Jerred Ryan Griggs of Tennessee, Trevor Keith Freeman of Oklahoma, Jacob Samuel Freeman of Florida, and Cole Ryan Freeman/Leslie of Oklahoma. The Lord blessed his life additionally with 5 great grandchildren, Jaxson Ray Griggs, Mia Kate Griggs, Kyler Ashton Locke, Annistyn James Griggs all of Tennessee and Reid Ryan Freeman of Oklahoma, and by numerous nieces and nephews, and family members.
He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Wayne Freeman, his parents Arthur Columbus Solomon Freeman and Mary Louetta Carey Freeman, 4 brothers, William Freeman, (Infant) Lester Freeman, Andrew Freeman, John Freeman, and 3 sisters, Grace Freeman Van Deventer , Velma Freeman Franks, and Elois Freeman Faulkner.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 24th at 2:00 pm at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Pastors Dale Hull and Jack Forness will officiate. His family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 pm until service time at the funeral home.
