BAXTER-Celebration of Life service for Clydia Jo "JOJO" Cunningham Frazier, 77 of Cookeville, will be Saturday, April 1 at 1 PM at Boma First Church of God. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 AM until service time at the church. Her wishes of cremation are being honored. A private family interment will be in Smellage Memory Gardens in the Boma Community.
Mrs. Frazier went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born September 7, 1945 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Bro. Clyde and Ann Terrell Cunningham.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Ed" Lee Frazier, Jr. on April 12, 2020.
Jo was an Upperman High School graduate. She studied Music Composition and Voice at TTU. She was a Music Director for a large Children's Choir in Kingsport, TN and Choir Director for our local Church here in Putnam County. She was instrumental in introducing Drama and Interpretive Movement to Worship in our local Church and State events. She also taught an Adult Sunday School Class. Jo and her sisters sang at Church events, Baccalaureate Programs, Valentine and Christmas Banquets, Alumni Reunions, and Portrayed the Andrew Sisters in entertaining the Veterans at the Chamber of Commerce. Jo and her husband Ed, were TN State Youth Coordinators for the First Church of God in the 70's - 80's. Jo also was an avid Designer and Decorator for their home Church in Kingsport, TN and also in her local Church here in Putnam County.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Beth Ann and Shane Kelley of Mt. Juliet; grandchildren, Parker and Paisley Kelley; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeanie and Tony Lee of Baxter, Sherry Bullock of Greensboro, NC, Gayle and David Turnage of Cookeville; brother, Clyde Cunningham, Jr. and friend Edith Ealey of Baxter; several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Boma First Church of God, 10630 Old Baxter Road, Baxter, TN 38544.
