Joan Allison

Joan Edith Allison, 77 of Cookeville, passed away peacefully at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, TN on Thursday morning, January 18, 2024.

She was born September 23, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Fredrick John and Lillian Edna Reidl Spitler.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert " Bob" Allison, II on April 7, 2012 and a brother David Spitler.

Joan and husband Bob owned and operated Expressions Photography in Cookeville for many years, helping preserve family portraits and happy events for years to come.

She attended Life Church of Cookeville.

Joan enjoyed fishing until her health declined. She enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include daughters, Cindy (Will) Boles of Cookeville, Kim (Bill) Miller of Smyrna and Amy (Brian) McGuire of Murfreesboro; grandchildren: Makenna Miller, Wes (Graceann) Boles, Rylee McGuire; a sister, Susan (Robert) Arata of Cookeville.

A private family memorial graveside service will be held at a later date at Cookeville City Cemetery, next to her beloved Bob.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Cookeville-Putnam County Animal Shelter, 2650 Gainesboro Grade, Cookeville, TN 38501
