COOKEVILLE CHAPEL-Joana Joyosa Rhodifer, beloved wife, devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and cherished friend, passed away on July 9, 2026, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was 51 years old.

Born on June 24, 1975, in Daet, Philippines, Joana was a beacon of warmth from her earliest years. Her path in life was marked by both intellect and compassion. She achieved her academic dreams by earning both bachelors and masters degrees in her homeland, achievements of which she and her family were so proud.

As a young woman, Joana’s adventurous and determined spirit brought her far from her place of birth, eventually settling in Cookeville, Tennessee. For 17 years, she worked diligently as a lab technician in research and development for Tutco, where her intelligence and work ethic garnered deep admiration and lifelong friendships among her colleagues.

Joana's greatest joys, however, blossomed outside the workplace. She treasured time spent with those closest to her-her tight-knit family and wide circle of friends-to whom she gave her unwavering love and care. Her heart overflowed with affection for children, and she found fulfillment in helping them whenever she could. In quieter moments, Joana delighted in her craft of cross stitch, creating intricate and heartfelt designs that will be treasured for generations as reminders of her gentle touch. She was a member of The River Community Church in Cookeville.

All who knew her will remember Joana’s friendly spirit and the feeling of being welcomed in her presence. She was loved by everyone who crossed her path, her gentle smile warming hearts and her generous kindness uplifting those around her.

Joana is survived by her loving mother, Leony Joyosa; her devoted husband, Mark E. Rhodifer; and her beloved son, Will Rhodifer. She is also deeply mourned by her brothers, Jessy Joyosa and Dustin Joyosa; her nieces, Nickella and Kim; and her nephews, Franz, Joukuin, John Raphael, Elijah, and Cyrus. Each family member, in their own way, carries forward her legacy of love, hope, and resilience.

The loss of Joana leaves an irreplaceable space in the lives of all who knew her. Her laughter, her gentle encouragement, her dedication to family, and her ability to make every gathering feel like home are memories that will forever linger. She will be sorely missed, but the love she gave so freely continues to illuminate the lives she touched.

Friends and family are invited to honor Joana’s memory at the Cookeville Chapel, 59 N Jefferson Avenue, Cookeville, TN 38501. Visitation will take place on Monday, July 13, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and again on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A funeral service celebrating Joana’s remarkable life will follow on July 14, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Steve Chatman officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Sparta.

Joana Rhodifer’s gentle spirit, steadfast love, and radiant joy will be cherished always. Though her time with us was far too brief, the depth and sincerity of her presence will endure in the hearts of all blessed enough to have known her.
