BAXTER CHAPEL - John Frank Finn, born on July 12, 1952, in The Gentry Community of Putnam County, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center at age 73. He was a cherished member of his community, known for his warm spirit and a hearty laugh that could light up any room.
John dedicated many years of his career to Bonnell Aluminum, where he made numerous friends. His colleagues remember him not just for his work ethic but also for his engaging personality and unwavering support. Outside of his professional life, John led a fulfilling existence, enjoying hobbies that brought him joy and connection with others. He took great pleasure in playing checkers and bingo, where he often engaged in spirited competitions. His love for country music filled his days with rhythm and harmony, while his talent for telling funny jokes never failed to bring smiles to those around him.
John's education began at Gentry and Baxter schools, laying the foundation for his lifelong learning and interaction with friends and family in the area. He remained closely connected to his roots throughout his life, always returning to the simple joys and traditions of his community.
He is survived by his beloved sister, Margaret Elisabeth Ford of Manchester, TN, as well as brothers Robert Finn of Baxter, Danny Finn of Baxter, and Dennis Finn of Byrdstown. He leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who will carry forward his legacy of humor and love.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Oscar and Thelma Guinn Finn, along with his sister, Betty Ann Finn, and brothers David and Fred Finn. Their memories will be forever cherished by those who knew him.
A graveside service to honor John's life will be held at 1 PM, Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Jared-Hughes Cemetery at Gentry with Bro. Herb Leftwich officiating.
