Johnnie Lee

Funeral services for Johnnie Alfred Lee, 82 of Cookeville, will be Thursday, April 11 at 1 PM from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery in Overton County. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. and again Thursday from 9 a.m. until service time. Mr. Lee died Monday, April 8, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 28, 1936 in to the late James Willie "Will" and Sallie Bohannon Lee. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters and brothers-in-law and brother: Evelyn and LD Holloway, Juanita and Leonard McCloud, Alene and Bennie Roberson and Dock Lee. He was a retired grader operator with the Putnam County Highway Department and a logger. He was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed mule pulling, coon hunting, rabbit hunting and running his dogs. Survivors include wife of 64 years (Married October 19, 1954) Zenobia Robinson Lee of Cookeville, daughters and a son-in-law Cathy Julian of Monterey, Sheron and Willard Haney and Norma "PeeWee" Lee all of Cookeville, grandchildren: Donna and husband Bryan Norrod and Jonathan Julian, sisters-in-law Geneva Lee and Agnes Caudill, host of nieces and nephews. Bro. Nolan Cantrell will officiate. Active Pallbearers will be W.J., Jeff and Landon Staggs, Donald Harris, Freddie Lancaster and Mark Speck.
