DYER CHAPEL-Johnny Lynn Nash, 82, a beloved family man, departed this life on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the NHC of Cookeville, Tennessee. Born on May 22, 1943 in Cookeville, he was a lifelong resident of the community he cherished deeply.
A man of robust character and unwavering principles, Johnny was known not just for his hard work as a logger, but also as a Real Estate Developer. An avid hunter and fisherman, he found joy in the great outdoors. In his younger years, he embraced the thrill of motorcycle riding and racing, crafting memories that would accompany him throughout his life.
Johnny was deeply devoted to his family, a role he cherished with all his heart. He leaves behind two sons, Tim (Terri) Nash of Cookeville and Kyle Nash of Franklin, who continue to carry on his legacy. His granddaughters, Mackenzie Nash and Madison Nash, held a special place in his life, and Johnny was known affectionately as "PA" to them. The time spent with his granddaughters filled him with immense pride and joy, embodying the warmth of his big-hearted nature.
In addition to his immediate family, Johnny was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Brenda Faye Long Nash, who passed away on March 1, 2022. He was also welcomed by his parents, John Henry and Beulah Alice Judd Nash, and his sister, Connie Randolph. These cherished relationships were foundational to him, shaping the loving man that he became.
Johnny attended Eastwood Baptist Church, where his faith was a cornerstone of his life. His commitment to his spiritual beliefs paired well with his dedication to family and community, leaving a lasting impact on those who knew him.
Visitation for Johnny Lynn Nash will take place at Dyer Chapel, 798 S. Willow Ave. on Thursday, August 21, 2025, 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again Friday, August 22, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at the same location at 4:00 PM. Interment will follow in Nash Cemetery in White County, TN. Bros. Derek Copeland, Ken Haney and Nolan Cantrell will officiate.
Jared Smith, Darien Dunn, Ervin Moore, Eddie Cole, Tyler Long and Eddie Farris will serve as pallbearers.
Johnny's legacy is one of love, hard work, and dedication. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
