COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Juanita Gwin Vickers Bartlett, born February 17, 1938, in Cookeville, Tennessee, passed away suddenly at her residence on Wednesday July 29, 2026, at the age of 88. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Juanita was a dedicated hair stylist for over 40 years, delighting in making her clients feel beautiful and cherished. Her warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on everyone she met. More than anything, her family was her greatest joy. Her daughters describe her as only the best mother ever. She also cherished her friends and their activities together which included crafting and playing bridge.
A longtime member of the Dry Valley Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Juanita found peace and community within her church family.
Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, Vay Aldon Vickers Sr. and Vada Ann Gaw Vickers; her husband, James Bartlett; and her siblings, Johnny Vickers, Rodger Vickers, Vay Vickers Jr., Bill Vickers, Jean Johnson and Chuck Zurawski, and Chuck Vickers.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Sherrye Clancy (partner Mike Clark) and Pam Campbell; brothers, David Vickers (wife Tomi) and Richard Vickers (wife Linda); sisters, Donna Palk (husband Tommy) and Lola Boles (husband Wheeler); her cherished grandchildren, Nathaniel Clancy (wife Erin), Scott Webb (wife Bree), Jacob Campbell (wife Kristina), and Lucas Campbell (wife Raleigh); great-grandchild, Emily Bostic (husband Zach), and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to gather for a visitation on Friday, July 31, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home.
Juanita will be cremated and her ashes interred at Dry Valley Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
