COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Kenneth M. Huddleston, a cherished member of the Cookeville community, passed away on Thursday June 26, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Born on July 5, 1938, in Cookeville, TN, Kenneth lived a life marked by devotion to family, faith, and a commendable career.
Kenneth's professional journey was diverse and dynamic. He began his career in banking, serving at First National Bank and later at First Tennessee Bank in Cookeville. His expertise extended to the insurance industry, where he excelled at Woodman of the World. An entrepreneur at heart, he opened and operated a clothing store, The Guy's Shop, showcasing his passion for business. Later in life, he found fulfillment in working in the maintenance department at Tennessee Technological University, from which he eventually retired.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Kenneth was known for his strong Christian values and his unwavering commitment to doing what was right in all aspects of life. He took great pride in his family, embodying a love that was evident to all who knew him. Kenneth was particularly enthusiastic about negotiating prices, often seen honing his skills at yard sales and retail shops, a testament to his vibrant personality.
His surviving family includes his son, Gary Huddleston (Teresa) of Lucas, KY; his daughter, Melinda Pendleton (Ken) of Cookeville; his sister, Jaunita Kane; grandchildren, Michelle Pate (Dustin), Kent Pendleton (Ginger), Kaylon Pendleton (Karla), Krista Cooper, and Kristin Pendleton; and a great-grandchild, Aubrey Pate.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Horace Huddleston and Edith Maynard Huddleston; his beloved wife, Joy Huddleston; and siblings Mary Chaffin, Robert Huddleston, William Huddleston, and Betty Jones.
A funeral service honoring Kenneth will be at 4 p.m. Sunday June 29 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Kenneth Tramel and Tim Miles will officiate. Visitation for friends and family will be from 1 - 4 p.m. Kenneth will be laid to rest at Shipley Cemetery.
Kenneth Huddleston’s legacy of integrity, love, and dedication will remain alive in the hearts of his family and friends, marking a life well lived.
