Kenneth Lynn, age 84, of Cookeville, passed away on Friday February 6, 2026 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family. He leaves a legacy of a life well lived and deeply loved.
Kenneth was born February 15, 1941 in Jackson County, TN to the late Avert and Vida Lynn.
He was a faithful member of Fairview Church of Christ for many decades. He was a good Christian man whose faith guided his life and relationships. A builder by trade, Kenneth worked hard with his hands, but his greatest work was loving and providing for his family. He was a devoted family man, known for his quick wit, gentle humor, and his constant desire to make those around him smile or laugh.
He is survived by his children, Vickie Callahan and Michael Lynn; his cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth and Kevin Marengo, Brittany Simmons and Jonathon Callahan; and his great-grandchildren, Savannah and Jackson Marengo, who brought him immeasurable joy and pride. Kenneth is also survived by a brother, Daina Lynn and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Virginia Talley Lynn; his son, Randy Lynn; brothers, Charlie Lynn, Ray Lynn, James Lynn and Harold Lynn; sister, Evelyn Barlow; and son-in-law, Sam Carr.
A funeral service honoring Kenneth will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday February 10 the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Andy Brewster will officiate. Visitation for friends and family will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Kenneth will be laid to rest at Smith Chapel Cemetery.
Kenneth will be remembered for his steady faith, kind heart, and the love he poured into generations of his family. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the family who will forever carry his memory.
