Landon Rice

Funeral services for Landon Ray Rice, age 33 of Cookeville will be held Monday, May 16 at 11 a.m. at Willow Avenue Church of Christ. Bro. Steve Bowman will officiate. Interment will follow in the Allison Cemetery. His family will receive friends Sunday from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home, and again Monday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Landon passed away Wednesday May 11, 2022 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born April 15, 1989 in Cookeville to Lonnie and Lisa Rice of Cookeville Landon was 2007 graduate from Cookeville High School. He was proud to be a Firefighter/EMT with the Cookeville Fire Department, and served as a part-time EMT with Putnam County EMS. Additionally, he was a volunteer with the Algood Fire Department. Landon was an avid bowler and a member of the Greater Highlands USBC and Tennessee State USBC. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Lauren Sparks Rice; daughter, Layna Ray Rice, (whom he loved more than anything in this world); paternal grandmother, Jean Rice; sister and brother-in-law, Leanne and Brandon Nabors; niece, Allie Nabors; nephew, Brooks Nabors; and many loved ones in the Jackson family. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, AJ Rice; and maternal grandparents, Ray and Elizabeth Cooper. Also, aunt, Shirley Parsley; uncle, Marshall Cooper. Pallbearers will be Chad Rice, Tyler Rice, Mark Jackson, Dylan Fisher, Tanner Murphy and Toby Lee.
