COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Ms. Linda Lee Evans, age 66 of Cookeville, passed away on January 21, 2025, at NHC Healthcare, Cookeville. Linda was born on May 15, 1958, in Oakland County, Michigan to the late Edward and Catherine Randolph Evans. Linda lived a life characterized by her infectious joy and unwavering faith. She was known for her happy-go-lucky personality, never having met a stranger, and she formed bonds with those around her through her genuine warmth and kindness. Linda had an enduring love for the Lord, which guided her through her life and motivated her to serve others.
Linda's career included being employed as a cafeteria worker at Heavenly Host Lutheran School, where she held a special affinity for the children. Her compassionate spirit extended beyond her job, as she volunteered with Habitat for Humanity after receiving a habitat home herself, demonstrating her commitment to giving back to the community and always wanting to be involved and to serve.
Linda's involvement with church activities was a constant throughout her life. She was a dedicated member of Stevens Street Baptist Church, where "Ms. Linda" imparted her knowledge and faith by teaching a kindergarten Sunday School class. She also served as a greeter for the church, making members and guests feel welcome with her friendly and outgoing nature.
Always smiling and laughing, Linda especially enjoyed ballroom dancing in earlier seasons of her life.
Linda is survived by her brothers Eddie Evans (Patricia), Mark Evans (Penny), Michael Evans, and Brian Evans, as well as her special friends Alvena Vaughn and Peggie Parrott. She is also remembered fondly by her aunts Carol Simmons (Richard) of Cookeville and Jimmie Ciacio (John).
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister, Sandra Jean Collins.
As we remember Linda Evans, let us celebrate the light and love she brought into the lives of so many. Her presence will be profoundly missed, and her legacy of kindness and service will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Visitation will take place on January 28, 2025, at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM.
