COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Lois Marie Clinton, age 77, a loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, August 12th, 2025. Born in Jackson County, Tennessee on June 7th, 1948, Lois dedicated her life to loving and caring for those around her, devoting herself to being the best mother and grandmother she could be. She was a shining light and a spark of pure joy for anyone who had the privilege of knowing her, and her passing is a reminder of the wonderful and impactful life that she lived. Lois would want those who remembered her fondly to remember her not for how she passed, but for how she lived, and for the many lives that she touched during her journey.

She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Gore and her husband, Wayne Gore, and her grandson, Brady Gore. Her closest friend Betty Fine was to her a sister not by blood, but by choice, and their friendship was one of the many things that Lois treasured most. During her time as a secretary for the history department at Tennessee Technological University, she made a lasting impact on both her coworkers and the students who looked to her for guidance. Her true passion was caring for the ones she held dear, as her daughter, Kelly, and her grandson, Brady, were the light of her life, and her most treasured accomplishment. Many will remember her for her smile, her personality, and her commitment to making others happy at every chance she had.

During the last moments of her life, she was surrounded by the love of those closest to her and by the incredible nurses and doctors of Signature Healthcare in Algood, Tennessee, who made her feel loved and important each and every day under their care. Lois was incredibly grateful for the compassion and kindness of those who cared for her during the five years she spent with them.

Per Lois’ wishes, no service will be held for her passing, as she wished to be cremated.
