Funeral services for Mrs. Louise R. Brown, age 89 of Cookeville, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday December 12 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral. Interment will follow in Sand Springs Cemetery in Monterey. Her son, Carl Brown and Pastor Steve Thornton will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 - 8 p.m. and again Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time. Due to COVID-19, social distancing and the use of masks are encouraged. Mrs. Brown passed away Thursday December 10, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born December 1, 1931 in the Sand Springs Community of Putnam County, TN, to the late Beecher and Daisy Ford Roberson. Mrs. Brown was a member of West View Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Lawrence (York) Brown; son, Lawrence Brown Jr.; brothers, Alvin, Bennie and Lewis Roberson; three infant siblings; sons-in-law, Bruce Womack and David Bowling of Cookeville. She is survived by her son, Carl (Vickie) Brown of Cookeville; daughters, Ina Peek of Algood, Doris (Phillip) Gore of Algood, Mary Womack of Cookeville, Terry Swink of Cookeville and Dana (Tim) Gann of Cookeville; sister Pansy Bohannon of Vandalia, OH; fourteen grandchildren, Travis (Marcy) Peek, Joseph (Stephanie) Peek, Clayton (DeAnn) Peek, Felicia Adams, Courtney Gore, Gabe (Jennifer) Gore, Jacob (Christina) Brown, Chad Brown, Joshua (Shan) Womack, Zachary (Andrea) Womack, Tory (Jessica) Womack, Drew (Sasha) Swink, David (Katie) Bowling, Amanda (Trey) Thomas; 20 great-grandchildren, Savannah, Sawyer, Lily, Gracie, Garrett, Thomas and Emmie Peek, Megan (Andrew) Atherton, Kayte, Karsyn, and Laken Gore, Alicia Brown, Addie, Clara, Ryker, Oakley and Carter Womack, Ryleigh and Sutton Swink, Landon Bowling; one great-grandson on the way; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was known and loved as "Grandma Weezie." Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
