Lucy Quillen

Martha Lucyle Quillen, 97, of Cookeville died Tuesday, August 24, 2011 at NHC of Cookeville. Graveside services are planned for the family at Crest Lawn Cemetery with Chaplin Charles Overton officiating. She was born September 30, 1913 in Hohenwald, TN to the late Grover Cleveland and Nettie Hinson Quillen. Ms. Quillen was a retired school teacher and earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Middle Tennessee State University. Her teaching career spanned 35 years, having taught elementary and high school in Lewisburg, TN and Cocoa Beach, FL. She was a member of Collegeside Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde Quillen and Malcolm Quillen, sister, Roberta Neal and a sister-in-law, Eva Pearl Quillen. Ms. Quillen is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
