Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Pendergrass Alcorn, age 91, of Algood, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday December 29 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Fr. Christiano Nunes da Silva will officiate. Interment with miltary honors will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 - 8 p.m. with a Rosary Service beginning at 7 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home, and Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Mrs. Alcorn passed away Wednesday evening December 26, 2018 at her home. She was born September 18, 1927 in Plains, PA to the late William James and Frances Hale Kustrin. Mrs. Alcorn served her community and country as a nurse. She served with the US Army Nurse Corp. She later worked in Dr. James Fred Terry's office in Cookeville and eventually retired from the Putnam County Health Department. She was active with the Putnam County Senior Citizens Center and a faithful member of St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She is survived by two sons, Jimmy Pendergrass of Smithville and Bobby (Barbara) Pendergrass of Cookeville; two step-sons, Neil (Peggy) Alcorn of Cookeville, Gary Alcorn of Memphis; and step-grandchildren, Michael (Geri Anna) Alcorn and Phillip Alcorn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Pendergrass; second husband, Neil Alcorn; two brothers, Buddy and Tommy Kustrin; and two sisters, Betty Roberts and Frances Marie Griffin. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
