COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Margaret Davis Andersen, of Cookeville, TN, loving wife and mother of two passed away from this life Sunday September 28, 2025, at the age of 90. Maggie was born January 6, 1935 in Lancaster, Tennessee to Aubry “Ted” Jackson Davis and Sallie Kerr Laycock Davis

Growing up in Cookeville, she graduated from Central High School before attending Tennessee Tech University graduating in 1956, earning a BS degree in Home Economics. She was a cheerleader from middle school through college. While attending TTU she won many honors including Who’s Who in American Colleges, Prettiest Girl, and Homecoming Queen. She married Niels Andersen on August 12, 1961. Maggie taught school for 7 years, and then raised two sons Niels Christian Andersen, Jr, and Ted Thanning Andersen. She then began a successful career as a real estate salesperson, at one time selling the biggest private property sale ever, in Putnam County.

Maggie was a member of the First Methodist Church, where she used her love of singing to sing in the choir. During her 4 years at Tech, she sung every solo at church.

She deeply loved her family, friends, and her two dogs Javu and Boy. Maggie’s positive, upbeat, can-do attitude made her a success at whatever she aspired to. Maggie loved life and lived it to the fullest. Her fun, generous spirit, mixed with her quick wit and intellect, made Maggie unforgettable. The legacy of Maggie’s zest for life will live on in the lives she touched.

Maggie was preceded in death by her father and her mother. She is survived by her devoted husband Niels of 64 years, her two children Christian (Tonya), Ted (Andrea), and granddaughter Shayne Andersen.

Graveside services for Margaret Davis Andersen will be held Friday October 3, 2025 at 11:00 am in the Cookeville City Cemetery with Chip Hunter officiating. The family will receive friend 9:00 to 10:45 am at the Cookeville Chapel.
