DYER CHAPEL-Mark Scott, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a hardworking truck driver, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Born on September 12, 1968, in Michigan, Mark dedicated his life to providing for his family, not just through his career as a truck driver and owner of a trucking business, but through the love and support he showed to those closest to him.
Mark was known for his stubborn nature, a trait that often led him to stand firm in his convictions and always fight for what he believed was right. However, beneath that steadfast exterior lay a deeply family-oriented man whose ultimate pride came from the joy and accomplishments of his loved ones. His legacy is enriched by a loving family, including his mother, Kitty Burton Williams, and his beloved wife of 21 years, Kelli Bajar Scott. Mark adored his daughters, Kaitlyn (Jonathan) Danley and Jennifer Scott, and reveled in every moment spent with his cherished grandchildren, Ellie Scott and Megan Schoenthel.
In addition to his immediate family, Mark is survived by his brothers, Craig Scott, Terry (Ann) Scott, and Jason Scott. Though he will be deeply missed by those who remain, he is now reunited with his father, L.P. Scott, and brother, Lewis Scott, and stepfather, Almer Williams who passed before him.
Mark's interests and hobbies brought joy and warmth to those around him. From weekends spent bowling and golfing to nights filled with delicious meals cooked and grilled out for family gatherings, Mark brightened the lives of everyone he encountered. He had a special way of bringing people together, and he made each gathering feel special and memorable.
A graveside service and interment to honor Mark will be held Tuesday, November 11th at 12:00 p.m. at Double Springs Cemetery. Visitation will follow at the cemetery.
