Martha Faye Helm

BAXTER CHAPEL-Martha Faye Ford Helm of Silver Point, TN was born May 20, 1937 in Putnam County, TN and died Saturday, December 20, 2025 at NHC of Cookeville at the age of 88.

She was a graduate of Baxter Seminary and Tennessee Tech University with a degree in Business Administration.

Her faith was important to her and she worshipped the Herren's Chapel Church of Christ for many years.

She was a retired medical assistant with the late Dr. William S. Taylor of Cookeville for 30+ years, where she demonstrated the utmost care and compassion for the patients.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother. Faye loved having all the family together cooking and enjoying their company.

She is survived by her daughter, Doris Denton of McMinnville; grandchildren, Samuel Helm, Audrey (Chris) Allen, Matthew Helm; mother of the grandchildren, Linda Helm; great grandchildren, Jaydan, Reagan and Chase; nieces, Anita (James) Odle, Nina (Joe) Chapman, Delores (Mark) Fowler; host of other family and friends, and her church family.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Arvel and Sammie Louise Maxwell Ford; husband, Herbert Glenn Helm on October 29, 1973; son, Richard Helm on December 21, 2019; sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Joe Maynard; sisters and brother-in-law, Peggy (JD) Fisher, June Mayes; nephews, Pat Palmer, Michael "Mickey" Wayne Palmer and Steve Fisher.

A funeral service for Faye will be Tuesday, December 23 at 1 PM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home, 532 4th Avenue South, Baxter, TN with Bro. Dennis Lowe, Bro. Phillip Loftis and Bro. Glenn B. Ramsey officiating.

Interment will follow in the New Home Baptist Church Cemetery in the Boma Community of Putnam County, TN. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11 AM until service time at 1 PM at the funeral home.

Active Pallbearers will be Chris Allen, Samuel Helm, Matthew Helm, Jaydan Helm, James Odle, Joe Chapman and Mark Fowler.
