COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Mary Ann Lundy, a beloved figure in her community and a devoted mother, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Life Care of Sparta. Born on July 19, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan, Mary dedicated many years of her life to serving others as a waitress at a local restaurant, where her warm smile and friendly demeanor left a lasting impression on her patrons and coworkers alike.

Mary was a cherished mother to her three daughters, Cheryl Johnson, Laurie (Louie) Vagrin, and Donna Affer, who carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience along with her step son and step daughter. Her life was also enriched by the companionship of her brothers: Michael, Frank, Louis, Sam, and Lawrence Affer, who shared countless memories and moments of joy.

Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Adrienne (Jason) Thomas, Marianne (Ryan) Trueman, and Robert (Brittany) Affer, who were a source of immense pride and joy for her. In addition, she is remembered fondly by several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and others whose lives she touched with her unwavering love and affection.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Robert John Lundy, her brother, Anthony Affer, and her parents, Louis and Mary Laperna Affer. They will be remembered fondly as part of her enduring family story.

Throughout her life, Mary embodied the true spirit of nurturing and compassion, building a family that continues to thrive. Her impact on those around her will be remembered for generations to come. She will be greatly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A memorial services will be held at a later date in Michigan.
