BAXTER CHAPELMary Ruth Myatt, age 69 of Baxter, passed away peacefully at her home in Baxter on Friday September 26, 2025. Born on July 7, 1956, in Cookeville, she lived a life that was rich in love, compassion, and service to those around her.

Mary's free spirit and calming presence made her the heart of the family. She had a gift for bringing peace to difficult moments and was truly the "rock" her loved ones could always lean on. Her kitchen was her sanctuary, and she poured her love into the meals she cooked.

Classic rock music was the soundtrack of her life, and her home was often filled with its familiar rhythms. She was deeply devoted to her parents, James Jerdon West and Joyce Marie West, caring for them with unwavering dedication until their passing. Her love for family was her constant guiding force.

Mary found joy in the simple things - the peace she felt while mowing her yard on a sunny afternoon, cheering for her granddaughter, James at basketball games, laughing with Olivia while watching TV, and holding strong to her faith in Jesus Christ. That faith carried her through life's joys and challenges, always reminding her to cling to hope.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, James Jerdon West and Joyce Marie West, and her brother, Jimmy West, each of whom she cherished deeply.

A graveside service will be held at Smellage Memory Gardens in Silver Point, TN on Monday September 29 at 11:00 AM, followed by interment at 12:00 pm. Family and friends are warmly invited to celebrate Mary's life and share memories of her enduring love and spirit.
