DYER CHAPEL-Mary Ilene Nash, born on November 18, 1929, in White County, Tennessee, touched the lives of many during her remarkable journey. A cherished member of the community and a devoted member of the United Freewill Baptist Church in Cookeville, she was known for her warm personality and caring nature.
With a dedicated career spanning over 30 years as an associate with McCord's, Mary made significant contributions both professionally and personally. Her life reflected a deep commitment to those around her, often found taking care of her beloved flowers and animals, especially cats and dogs. An outdoor enthusiast and a people person, she enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends, and she deeply cherished going to the Senior Citizens Center and the gospel singings at the Community Center.
Mary's life concluded on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at the Life Care Center of Sparta, leaving behind a legacy filled with love and memories.
She is survived by her brother-in-law, James (Darnell) Nash; sisters-in-law, Rose Ramage and Dorothy Nash; and several nieces and nephews, including Judy Lewis, Shirley Philpot, Robert Hughes, Mary Winningham, Irene Turner, Tonya (Tim) Wright, Donnie (Linda Sue) Hoskins, James Edward "Eddie" (Barbara) Duncan, Greg Duncan, Randy Scott, Brian (Bobbie) Duncan, Pamela Nash Farris, Paula Thomas, Mitchell Nash, Karen Brown, Tony Brown, Phillip Brown, Jesse Nash, Perkins Nash, Margaret Nash, Dewayne Nash, Danny Ray Ramage, David Lee Ramage Linda Bates and Cheryl Bates. She is also remembered by numerous great nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Amon and Oshie Mae Nash Duncan; her beloved husband, Jere Nash; her brothers, Jerry Duncan, "Bud" Duncan, and James Duncan; her sister, Lizzie Lafever; and her nephews, Joe Lynn Hughes, Michael Nash, and Ronald Gene Duncan, as well as her niece, Deborah Buck.
Visitation will be held at Dyer Chapel at 798 S. Willow Ave., on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 9:00 AM to until service time at 12:00 noon. Bro. Dow Allen will officiate. Interment will follow in Nash Cemetery in Putnam County.
Mary Ilene Nash will be remembered for her kindness, love of gardening, and the joy she brought to those fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
