Funeral Services for Melba Clinton DeLa'O, age 91 of Dearborn Heights MI and formerly of Cookeville will be at Noon Wednesday, August 24, 2011 in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, Aug. 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Wed. from 10 a.m. to noon. Burial will be in the West Cemetery. Mrs. DeLa’O passed away in Dearborn Heights Mi on Monday. August 15, 2011. Mrs. DeLa’o was born May 26, 1920 in Jackson County TN to the late Sam Houston (S.H.) Clinton and Annie Bell Clinton. She was the Beloved wife of the late James Patrick DeLa'O. Mrs. DeLa’O was a member of the Garden City Church of Christ in Dearborn Heights MI. Melba is survived by her son James D. DeLa’O of Dearborn Heights MI. In addition to her husband and parents, Melba was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Lola Holloway, Norman Clinton, Lura Whitson, Maggie Helton Palmer, Coe Clinton, Avo Eide, Elba Flora and Burtie Slagle. Services were held in Dearborn at the Dearborn Chapel of the Voran Funeral Home on Sunday August 21, 2011 with visitation from 2-4:30 p.m. with the funeral at 4:30 p.m.
