Melissa Armstrong

Melissa Jane Armstrong, age 46, of Cookeville, passed away suddenly Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at her home. A memorial gathering for friends and family will be at the Clarion Inn in Cookeville on Saturday, February 18 from 3 - 5 p.m. Melissa was born February 28, 1970 in Queens, NY. She graduated from Lynn University in Boca Roton, FL with a Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management. She worked alongside her parents and husband at the Historic Statesboro Inn in Statesboro, GA prior to moving to Cookeville. Melissa is fondly remembered as a loving wife and mother. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, John Armstrong, who she married march 30, 1996 in Statesboro, GA; parents, Milton and Michele of Danville, VT; two daughters, Cecilia and Madison Armstrong of Cookeville; and mother-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Armstrong of Watertown, TN. She was preceded in death by father-in-law, Robert Michael Armstrong Sr. and brother-in-law, Robert Michael Armstrong Jr. Memorial donations may be made to the Cookeville/Putnam County Animal Shelter, 2650 Gainesboro Grade, Cookeville, TN 38501.
