COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Michael Wayne Blevins passed away Saturday October 24, 2026. Born September 23, 1981, Michael lived 45 years filled with laughter, love, music, unforgettable stories, and friendships that stood the test of time.
Michael had a wonderful sense of humor, a quick wit, and a way of making even ordinary moments entertaining. He loved a good laugh, enjoyed a good story, and wasn't afraid to be the subject of either. Those who knew him best will remember his humor, his generous heart, and the countless memories made along the way.
Above all, Michael loved his family. He has joined his mother, Cathy, and father, Wayne Blevins, who went before him. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Jessica; his son, Mekhi; his stepdaughter, Grace; his sisters, Kendra, Debra, Tammy, Tanya, and Kimberly; his Uncle Barry; and many other family members who loved him dearly.
Music was a big part of Michael's life, as were the people he shared it with. His friendships were genuine and lasting, including those with Jason Knight, Dee Prince, and countless others who shared years of laughter, adventures, and memories with him. Michael valued the people he loved, and those relationships remained an important part of his life.
Michael's life wasn't defined by the number of years he lived, but by the memories, laughter, and love he leaves behind. There are stories that will be told for years, songs that will always bring him to mind, and moments that will never be quite the same without him.
A Memorial Service for Michael will be held Sunday November 8, 2026 at 5:00 pm in the Cookeville Chapel at Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home (59 N Jefferson Ave). Visitation for friends and family will be Sunday from 3:00 pm until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mekhi's Legacy Fund to support Michael's son.
Today isn't about how we lost him. It's about how lucky we were to have him.
