DYER CHAPEL-Michael Ted Whiteaker, born on July 29, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was a dedicated and skilled welder in the construction industry, respected for his craftsmanship and hardworking nature.

Michael gave his heart to Jesus. His passions extended beyond his work to include woodworking and remodeling, where he found joy and expression in creating and improving with his own hands.

He is survived by a son, John Whiteaker; daughter, Megan Stenger of Wisconsin; wife, Laura Whiteaker; brother, Stanley Roy Whiteaker of Sparta, Tennessee; sister, Donna Sue (James) Browe of Cookeville; and two grandchildren. 

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Earl Whiteaker and Bonnie Grace Foust Whiteaker; as well as his brothers, Ronald Whiteaker, Richard Whiteaker, and Charles Rodger Whiteaker. Their memories remain a significant part of his story.

A graveside service to honor and remember Michael will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Brown's Mill Cemetery, located on Brown's Mill Road in Cookeville, Tennessee. Family, friends, and all who knew Michael are invited to the graveside service with visiting following at the cemetery. Sister Annette White will officiate.

Michael Ted Whiteaker’s life will continue to inspire those who had the privilege to know him.
