Michaela Pangburn, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. Born on June 12, 1945, in Hibbins, Minnesota, Michaela grew up in this small town with her best friend and twin sister, Michelle. They would both leave Minnesota and begin new lives together in California.

A proud graduate of Chisholm High School, Michaela built her career in administration within the sporting goods industry, showcasing her hardworking nature and dedication to her profession. However, her most cherished role was that of a happy and protective mother and a loving wife. For 59 wonderful years, she shared her life with her husband, Raymond "Bill" Pangburn, who stood by her side through thick and thin. Michaela's love for Bill was evident in every smile and gesture, creating a partnership that was the envy of many.

Michaela's love extended to her two sons, Alexander and his wife Robin Pangburn of Oak Hills, California, and Byron and his wife Chantelle Pangburn of Stafford, Virginia. She took immense pride in being a mother, nurturing her children with endless support and unwavering affection. As a grandmother to Malachi, and Gabriel Pangburn, as well as Amelia and Allen Piatt and Alexander Pangburn, Jr., her heart surged with joy. The arrival of her great-grandchild, Adalene Pangburn, was the cherry on top of an already fulfilling family life.

A longtime resident of Rancho Cucamonga, California, Michaela was not only known for her warmth and loving nature but also for her talents and interests. She enjoyed sewing and embraced various types of art, often using her creativity to express the love she felt for her family and friends. Her personality shone brightly, making her a source of happiness and comfort in the lives of those around her.

Michaela was a faithful Catholic and an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church since moving to Cookeville in 2012. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life and was reflected in her caring interactions with others, embodying the principles of kindness and generosity.

While Michaela is now reunited with her mother, Gail Tiney, her twin sister, Michelle Castanedo, and her grandson, Ian Pangburn, she leaves behind a vibrant tapestry of memories that will continue to inspire. Her family stands united in their grief but also in their gratitude for the life Michaela led, filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished moments.
