Michelle Dawn Huddleston, a beloved mother, wife, sister, and friend, passed away suddenly on October 21, 2023, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Born on December 28, 1980, in Cookeville, TN, Michelle was a strong-willed, feisty, and loving individual who touched the lives of many in her community.
Michelle was a devoted family woman, survived by her husband of 26 years, Ray Huddleston, and their three beautiful daughters, Kaylie, Madison, and Aubrey Huddleston. She was the cherished daughter of Kathy Owens-Florea and the late Terry Owens Sr., and the loving sister of TJ Owens. She also leaves behind her father and mother-in-law, Carlos and Rosie Huddleston, and her brothers-in-law, Danny Theophile (wife, Cindy) and Tony Huddleston. Michelle was a caring great-godmother to Aniyah and Le'veon. She was preceded in death by her father, Terry Owens Sr., sister-in-law, Renee Huddleston, and special friends, Carl and Missy Phillips.
Michelle was a proud alumna of Tennessee Tech University, where she earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees. She was a dedicated and longtime employee of the university, serving as the Director of Housing for Residential Life at the time of her passing. In her tenure, she also served as the Director of Community Engagement in Service Learning. Michelle was instrumental in the creation of the TTU Food Pantry, a testament to her caring nature and commitment to her community.
Known for her strong will and go-getter attitude, Michelle was a force to be reckoned with. Her feisty spirit was balanced by her loving and caring nature, making her a beacon of kindness and compassion in her community. She was a woman of action, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her ability to love unconditionally and her kind-heartedness are qualities that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services honoring Michelle will be at 11 a.m. Thursday October 26 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Alex Lisic will officiate. Her family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 - 8 p.m., Wednesday from 3 - 8 p. m. and again Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
