Memorial services for Michael "MIKE" Ross Walsh, 70 of Cookeville will be Friday, March 20 at 7 PM from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Pastor Scott Williamson will officiate. Mr. Walsh died Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born June 16, 1944, in Pennsylvania to the late John J. and Wilma Weltner Walsh. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, John W. Walsh. He graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business. He was a member of United Church of Cookeville. Mr. Walsh was a retired Legal Advocate with the Legal Aid Society in Cookeville. He was the current Chair of the Putnam County Democratic Party and Representative for the Executive Tennessee State Democratic Party. He served as a volunteer with Tennessee Health Care Campaign, Upper Cumberland Pride, PFLAG of Cookeville and Aging Services of the Upper Cumberland. He is survived by his partner of 40 years Bob Spence of Cookeville, sister Patricia Wilson, sister-in-law Patsy Walsh of Jacksonville, FL, and many special friends: Among them, Marie Ferran and Kathy Sklenka. Family will receive friends Friday from 4 PM - 7 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Susan G.
