Jeannine Lynn

COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Jeannine Jarvis Lynn passed away on Monday March 23, 2026, at Cedar Hills Senior Living in Cookeville, Tennessee.

Born Mildred Jeannine Jarvis on August 10, 1943, in Cookeville, Jeannine grew up in Algood, and graduated from Algood High School, then attended Tennessee Tech. She was crowned “Miss Algood” on April 17, 1961 and retains the title to date.

Jeannine’s career in banking began while living in Florida and continued upon her return to Tennessee. Jeannine retired from the photo services department of Tennessee Tech.

Jeannine found spiritual and community support as a lifelong Methodist. She attended Paran United Methodist Church and more recently Cookeville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing the piano and had a beautiful singing voice which she shared at many different churches.

Jeannine possessed a joyous and fun-loving personality. She was an animal and nature lover. Supported National Parks and animal rescues. Loved gardening, music, and fishing. And she supported various missions of the United Methodist Church.

Jeannine is survived by her beloved daughter, Ginger Lynn (Jeff) Dunn of Cookeville; her treasured grandchildren, David Cody (Hannah Wilkins) Dunn of Denali National Park, Alaska, and Ashley Lynn (Dustin) Walters of Beaufort, North Carolina; and a great-grandchild joyfully expected this summer. Also her first cousin Jane Greenwood Perry of Cookeville, who was like a sister, as well as her dear friend Cathy Ferrell, and several very special cousins and friends.

Jeannine was preceded in death by her cherished parents, Morris and Mildred Greenwood Jarvis, as well as her devoted husband James “Jim” Langford Lynn. Jeannine and Jim shared a remarkable bond, having been married 54 years, a testament to their enduring love and commitment.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM, Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Cookeville First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 11am until the time of the service. Rev. Chip Hunter and Pastor Danny Hembree will officiate.

Interment will follow at Paran Cemetery (3812 W Paran Rd, Cookeville).

The family extends a special Thank You to the staff of Cedar Hills Senior Living, as well as the many ministries of Cookeville First United Methodist Church.

Jeannine’s legacy is one of faith, love, and dedication. A life well-lived and forever cherished.
