Mollie Branning

COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Mary Elizabeth Branning, known and loved by all as Mollie, passed away Monday June 15, 2026 after fighting cancer with extraordinary strength and grace. Originally from Florida, Mollie spent several years in Murfreesboro, Tennessee before settling in Cookeville five years ago, where she built a life full of love and laughter. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter whose warmth and spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Mollie is survived by her husband and best friend of nearly 25 years, Jimi Branning; her four children, Megan Hastings and her husband Jordan, Mallory McCaffrey and her husband Barrett, Michael Hamill and his wife Alejandra, and Alyssa Carneal and her husband Kenny; and her five cherished grandchildren, Knox Hastings, Jayda Hamill, Cullen, Liam, and Raygan McCaffrey. She is also survived by her father, Dale Greene; her brothers, Robbie Greene and his wife Cassie, and Ben Greene and his wife Melissa; three nieces, four nephews, and nine great-nieces and nephews. And of course, her two beloved pups, Ty and Ozzie, who were never far from her side.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Greene.

Mollie's greatest joy in life was her family. She lived for the moments spent together, traveling to new places, creating traditions, and gathering around the campfire where the best conversations happen and the best memories are made. She had a gift for bringing people together and making everyone feel at home, and she fought fiercely this past year so she could hold onto every one of those moments a little longer.

Her strength, her love, and her laughter will be carried forward by everyone she leaves behind. She will be profoundly missed and forever loved.

A service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, June 20th at 1:00 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. Pastor Josh Waugh will officiate.

Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (931)526-6111. Share memories and condolences at www.hhhfunerals.com.
