COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Delfina Nellie Provost, 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday April 26, 2026, in Monterey, Tennessee.
Born on the island of Graciosa, Azores, Portugal, Nellie immigrated to the United States at the age of five.
A proud veteran, she served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Stationed in Vietnam and the Philippines, she specialized in aircraft supply and achieved the rank of Sergeant. Following her service, Nellie earned a BS in Accounting and led Provost Plumbing as President for many years.
Driven by a passion for service, she later earned a Master’s in Social Work. She found immense joy and dedication in supporting the elderly and those in hospice care. A resident of both Massachusetts and Tennessee, Nellie was defined by her hardworking spirit and deep devotion to her family.
She is survived by her adoring husband of 37 years, Michael Provost; her daughter, Tasha Roberts-Coombs, and son-in-law, Russ Coombs; three cherished grandchildren, Veronica, Evan, and Jack; seven siblings; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday June 19, 2026 at 10:00 am at Saint Catherine of Alexandria, 107 North Main St, Westford, MA 01886 with Military Honors. A reception will follow at 12:00 pm at Devens Common Center, 31 Andrews Pkwy, Devens, MA 01434
