COOKEVILLE-Patricia Lea Cobb, age 77 of Cookeville, passed away Friday morning, August 22, 2025. She was born April 10, 1948 in Lebanon, TN to the late James Wesley Lee and Ruth Hankins Lea, and was the wife of Ronnie Cobb, a Church of Christ minister. She attended the congregations where Ronnie preached, presently at Wirmingham Church of Christ. She was very active with her husband in ministry, writing articles for The Christian Bible Teacher to assist teachers in Bible classes. Her work included two articles that were published, "Generate Enthusiasm for Review" and "Climb the Ladder to Successful Teaching"

Patsy graduated from Cookeville Central High School in 1966. She earned a bachelors of science degree in education from Tennessee Tech University in 1974 and began her career in education as a 2nd grade teacher at Capshaw Elementary. After two years in the classroom, Patsy earned the distinction of master reading teacher specialist for the Upper Cumberland Reading Project, ESES III. She served as a reading consultant instructor for classroom teachers in Jackson, Macon and White County school systems. As her career continued, she earned additional degrees from Tennessee Tech, a masters degree in reading and an EDS in administration and supervision. Her writings were published in several education publications throughout her career. Her distinguished career in education spanned a total of 41 years.

Patsy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a woman of strong faith in God and was loved by all who knew her. In addition to Ronnie, her husband of 57 years, she is survived by her son and daughter in law, Andy and Ciara Cobb; three loving grandchildren, Ciana, Anica and Clay Cobb; sister in law, Lucinda Lea, of Murfreesboro; numerous nieces and nephews, including Jamie and Anna Lea, of Wales. In addition, she is survived by her husband's family, her brothers and sister in law, Charles and Phyllis Cobb and Randy Thompson; sisters and brother in law, LouNell and Perry Bartlett; Linda Nash and Willa Dean Cobb.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Lea; and by sisters in law, Janie Thompson and Joanna Allen.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 25, 2025 at 12:00 pm in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Her husband, Bro. Ronnie Cobb, and Bro. David Hill will officiate.

Her family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 a.m until service time at the funeral home.

Clay Cobb, Butch Cross, Patrick Farris, Adam Farris, Steve Bartlett and Mark Bartlett will serve as pallbearers.

Patsy's family would also like to acknowledge many of the teachers and coworkers who were special to her through the years, including Wanda Smith, Teresa Sparks, Linda Irby, Sue Gernt, Deanie Williams, Ted Loftis, Fay Borden, Gayle Loftis, Vicky Draper, Harriett Sue Hall, Judy Roberts, Pam Williams, Hope Little, Christy Shepherd, Tabitha Savage, Laura Maynard, Marilyn Aitken, Wilma Cannon, Polly Kidd, Hunter Zanardi, Tabitha Bohannon and Carlene Blair.
