Funeral services for Mr. Lew Paul Flatt, age 80 will be held Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Phillips Cemetery in Algood. Bro. Steve Flatt will officiate. His family will receive friends Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Flatt died Saturday July 23, 2022 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born November 9, 1941 in Jackson County, TN to the late Ermon B. and Lola West Flatt. Paul was a 1960 graduate of Cookeville Central High and earned a bachelors degree from Ambassador College in Pasadena, CA. A faithful and devoted follower of Christ, he served along with his wife Mary Jo in full-time ministry for 19 years. He then worked sales selling security alarm systems. He was a devoted husband, brother, uncle and friend to many. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Mary Jo Bailey Flatt; brothers, Howard Flatt, Leamon Fowler Flatt, Wesley Flatt, Hollie Flatt and Harold Flatt; sisters, Dimple Shelton, Clena Owens and Melba Jones; and brother in law, Gene Bailey He is survived by a sister, Opal Bohannon; sister in law Joyce Flatt, both of Cookeville; brother in law, James (Reba) Bailey; sisters in law, Darlene (Larry) Voss, Karen (Gray) Peden, Christine (John) Hutsell, Ginger (Trey) Parks, and Sylvia Bailey; Flatt family nieces and nephews, Lois (Bobby) Harp, Doris Long, Judy (Lakota) Longo, Steve (Patsi) Flatt, Joy (Mark) McCandless, Nancy (Phil) Meador, Molly (Dennis) Boggs, Linda (Ernie) Buchanan, Larry (Susan) Flatt, Melissa (Bill) Littman, Phyllis (Kevin) Ferguson, Raymond (Fran) Dyer, Sharon Barnard, Victor Flatt, Collette (Ron) Dishman, Danny (Dayna) Owens, Stan Flatt, Jill (Gordy) Cucullu; Bailey family nieces and nephews, Vickie Merrill, Valerie Olson, Randal Bailey, Jessica Porter, Lisa Talley, Shannon Cornell, Robert Hutsell, Ginny Schutt, Chris Parks, Kyle Parks, and Karen Rudolph; and a host of great nieces, nephews and even two great, great nephews.
