RANDY NEIL BOOHER (1953-2025)
COOKEVILLE-Randy Booher, 72, of Cookeville, TN, passed away in July of 2025.
He was born in Lafayette, TN on April 11, 1953 to A.K. & Edna Booher. After graduating from
Putnam County High School in 1971, he went on to earn an architectural degree from Auburn
University in 1976.
He met Sherrye Riley of Ft. Myers, FL at Auburn University, and they were married on October
28, 1976. They were coworkers in their architectural firm, working side by side in the family
business. They had two children, Matt and Kristin.
Randy’s passion was architecture. Educated at Auburn University, he worked for several other
architects in Alabama until he started his own firm in London, KY. As a start up firm, he rented a
historic home on Main Street where his family lived on the 2nd floor and his business was based
on the 1st floor.
Outside of work, Randy found joy being on the water. Boating and water skiing were some of
his favorite activities as a young man.
His grandchildren, Kaleb, Kaleigh, and Karson were one of his favorite parts of life. In later
years, they were a great source of encouragement for him. He would spend the time between
their visits building custom made swings, basketball hoops, air hockey tables, and basketball
arcades. One of his favorite activities with them were highly competitive foosball matches.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, A.K and his mother, Edna. He is survived by his
sister Deborah Freeman (husband, Jim), his wife Sherrye, his children Matt (wife, Laura) and
Kristin, and his grandchildren Kaleb, Kaleigh, and Karson.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 @ 11:00am CDT at the Booher
