Memorial services for Mary Reba Pigg, age 89 of Cookeville, will be Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 1 PM at the Dyer Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Doug Hawkins will officiate.


Her family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 8 PM and Saturday 11 AM until service time at the funeral home.


Reba passed away Monday November 21, 2022 at NHC of Cookeville. Her family wishes to express their gratitude for the care Reba received from the staff at NHC and also the staff at Home Instead.


She was born September 28, 1933 in Putnam County, TN to the late Herman Elmer and Gladys Langford Hawkins.


Reba was a member of Dodson Branch Southern Baptist Church. She formerly worked at Wilson Sporting Goods and retired from Tennessee Tech University Food Services. She liked to crochet, cook for her family, and she especially loved her grandchildren.


Reba (Hawkins) Pigg has been a bright shining light to her family. An extraordinary wife for 53 years to Grady and a loving mother to Frank, Sharon and Alvin. She filled their hearts with precious childhood memories and made their home a wonderful place to grow up. She worked to help provide the extras that she wanted for her children. "Their grandmother will forever hold a special place in their hearts."


She is survived by sons, Frank (Sandra) Pigg of Cookeville, Alvin (Melissia) Pigg of Gainesboro; daughter, Sharon (Earl) Thrasher of Cookeville; brother, Don Hawkins of Palm Springs, CA; grandchildren, Michelle Pigg, Martha (Michael) Burton, Rebecca Thrasher, Amanda Pigg, Nolan Crabtree, and Ryan (Trisha) Crabtree; great grandchildren, Kaven Pigg, Cash Crabtree, Avannah Banks, Davis Burton, and AJ Jenkins; and several nieces and nephews.


In addition to her parents, Herman and Gladys Hawkins, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Pigg; infant son, Zeary Michael Pigg; and brothers, Parker, Phillip, and Gary Hawkins.
